How we hunt

Open water, bay, and islands

Early season we work local birds. Later we push the islands and open lake. We hunt until the water shuts us down.

  • Divers: bluebill, redhead, canvasback, goldeneye, bufflehead, merganser
  • Puddle ducks: mallard, black duck, pintail, teal, wood duck

What to bring

  • Camo or dark neutral clothing
  • Valid Ohio hunting license, HIP, state and federal stamps
  • Shotgun + 50–75 non-toxic shells
  • Calls and binoculars if you want them
  • Snacks, water, and extra warm layers

Highlights from previous trips

Limits on the gunwale. Same boat, same blind, different crews. This is what the mornings look like when the birds work.
